i need a build, I want to get the best gaming (and recording) performance, in $400 or less. Possible? I would prefer intel over amd, and liquid cooled with a disk drive that is able to play DVD, rip burn and listen to CD, also I need lots of usb slots and a sd card slot. (windows, not mac) any builds?

If you want a good rig with cooling you are going to need at least 800 dollars or more for a low medium custom rig. This one I have cost about 1600 dollars total and it is a monster.

I built my last rig that just stopped turning on a few months ago, but I'm currently using a purchased computer. 1200 at best buy for a ROG Asus G20. I spent 900 on my built one and this feels just as capable with max settings on all modern games. It runs my HTC Vive very well, some games are a bit poorly optimized, but the ones that aren't run for hours.

I've learned that I may prefer prebuilt PCs, just because I love slim cases and its hard to build a powerful slim case gaming PC that looks as pretty as the G20.

While I don't have this rig quite yet, I will be ordering the parts for it and building it some time next month, I'm excited to breath some new life in my computer. Some people will say this is overkill but I only build a new computer every 6-7 years, That being said I will be putting this threw a lot of work running servers, etc. I also don't like playing the upgrade game instead building a very solid computer that will allow me to run games at beyond max settings for the next half decade. My old computer was built in early 2011 and has served me very well up till now still able to knock most games out of the water however I will be selling it to help fund the new computer as this build is around $1500

    Case: Thermaltake Chaser MK-1
    CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K Skylake @ 4.0GHz
    MoBo: MSI Gaming Z170A M5 LGA 1151
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW ACX 3.0
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 Gold
    RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw V Series 32 GB (4x8) DDR4 3200MHz
    SSD : Samsung 850 Evo 2.5" 500GB SATA III
    SSD2: Samsung 850 Evo 2.5" 250GB SATA III
HDD : WD Black 1TB 7200RPM SATA III HDD
