I currently own a Ruger 10/22, a Ruger Mark II Target, a Ruger Vaquero (so many Rugers? Two were given to me by my dad, and the Vaquero I bought off my grandpa who's obsessed with cowboy stuff) in .357, and the only one I am the original owner of is a Hi Point JHP (the .45 ACP model). I bought that one partially just to raise reactions, but also because I genuinely wanted one. Whether it's an underappreciated ugly duckling, or deserving of the hate, it's still a very relevant gun, so I wanted one for my collection just for the reference of "oh no, not one of those". I love mine, though. I had zero regard for practicality or conceal carry (let's face it, the Hi Point is good for neither), so I bought mine full size in full caliber. It's a Hi Point that's unapologetic and proud to be what it is. It's giant, it's clunky, it's VERY heavy (the gun is heavier than the Vaquero, an already heavy gun!), it's obnoxious. Just the way I wanted it to be.

I have a Jennings 380ACP from 1996 that makes your high point look like a reliability god XD

"How much is a Jennings 380 worth now?" Answer... $40. XD

I have a few. Got a Glock 17, Taurus 4510PLYFS, Ruger LCP, Ruger 10/22, HiPoint Model JCP, S&W M&P Shield 9mm, Mosin-Nagant Rifle, S&W M&P15, and a Hatsan Escort, and am working on an Anderson AR build. I'm also going to school for gunsmithing right now!

So here in the next month or two I have to renew my CCW permit. (Second renewal) Alot appears to have changed since I did my first renewal so I am curious as to how strict/relaxed the renewal will be this year.

I'm building two new rifles a Retro style 1957 Xar15. And a Ar10 308. Making it from a 80% about to buy a 80% ar 15 receiver and get the drill and jig kit.

I've gotten bit hard by the building bug lately and what to build several types and variations.

Most likely I'm going to make a post apocalypse style ar10 and 15. But I have one dream project to make a PSL rifle. That project will be difficult the receiver I can find a good 80% to build from I've never done 80% builds but I've built a stripped upper and lower. That was very fun.

I'll warn ya now. A friend of mind did that, (the bits that need drilled out and are not serialized, etc) and he drilled it. His one major thing of advice. "Oh the fucking aluminum dust/shavings. They get EVERYWHERE" XD He drilled it out like a month ago and he is STILL finding shavings/dust from the process around the house. lol

"Post apocalypse" AR-10...you mean Service Rifle, from Fallout?
That would be the prototype Ar10 that never made it past the prototype stag for the Us military. Maybe a few thousand were made for forgiven governments. That I could easily build or buy but its pricy. Look up Brn-10 proto on Brownells. Mags are like 65 bucks a piece for the proto.

That I will make one day the lower is like 200/300 bucks. I have to special order it because it's a complete receiver and ship it to a ffl. Right now I dont want to deal with that because of the 50$ transfer fee.

but I'm more toward the worn and patched style. Wrapped up with wire, cloth, homemade stock and grips etc.

Speaking of gun builds though, one day I really want to do an AR-15 and a Remington 870. For the AR-15, I want to mock it up to look exactly like an M16A1, although obviously semi-auto only and a differently marked reciever. But carry handle, triangular handguard, all that stuff. Although I'd want a 30 round magazine, since I just don't like the look of the 20 round ones, despite those being far more widely used on the A1's. I'd keep a 20 round magazine laying around though just to stick in the gun when the need arose. Alternatively, instead of a triangular handguard, I'd also want a fake M203 complete with the big rectangular heat shield. Either one of those looks would be totally legit. Kind of funny if the fake M203 could be made into a tennis ball launcher or something. As for the Remington 870, (assuming I couldn't find the actual version I want and just buy that outright), I'd want to make it look like the police model, with the folding stock. Think Terminator 2, towards the last bit of the movie. That's the look I want for it. Time and money, though.

Lol I'll bet I'm going to get a dual jig kit once I've got the money. Maybe get the bolt action 50bmg kit for the ar15 but that's pricy!! And requires being sent to a ffl because if bullcrap. Think its the side loading magazine. Where as the other is a single load and fire

(I know about the AR-10 being limited production at best originally, along with making a comeback recently as reproductions of a different variant or two that have a couple minor difference from the originals)
