We encourage open and friendly discussion. Moderators and Staff have final decisions on all matters and are here to make sure that the Furrypile community remains a friendly, fun place appropriate for users of all backgrounds and groups. We reserve the right to modify or amend these rules at any time and enforce them as we see fit. It is the forum member's responsibility to stay up to date on forum rules. Users who violate forum rules will be banned and offending content will be removed at any time, without warning. The length of the ban will be based on the severity and/or frequency of the violation utilizing our point based system and carry over into our Discord server.
Here are a set of rules for the forums. All members should read these before they begin posting:
Age – You must be at least 18 years or older to use the site. Anyone found to be younger will have their account permanently banned. This rule is taken very seriously for the safety of the members and the site due to the NSFW materials available.
Profanity – You will refrain from excessive use of profanity, especially as relating to the matter noted above.
Flaming & Hateful Material – You will not post abusive, hateful, or hurtful slurs, words or images towards any member, and will treat all individuals with respect. This also applies to your forum signature and avatar. Racist, sexist, homophobic and other hateful language and images will not be tolerated. Personal attacks are forbidden, and arguments and/or debates will be reasonable and intelligent using common sense to know where a line is drawn. Moderator and Staff decisions are final in these matters. Any abuse towards our Staff, Moderators and/or admins in any form will not be tolerated.
Illegal Activities – Users are forbidden from discussing or providing advice on topics that violate local, national, and international laws. This includes encouraging or soliciting others to violate laws or conduct criminal or immoral behavior. Punishment for such will be a permanent ban. However, we do allow such things to be present in a civil discussion where the topic is presented, but it is expected to be handled respectfully and carefully without promoting such things. Topics can include but are not limited to forgery, piracy, copyright violations, DDoSing, doxxing, drug abuse, etc.
Personal Information – You will not, under any circumstance, post real-life personal information of another member on the forum. This includes, but is not limited to, IP addresses, names, and contact information.
Pornographic Material – Anything that you wouldn’t want to show your boss must be tagged NSFW and also tagged NSFW in the thread title. Note: there will be absolutely no porn of actual people on this site period. This includes pictures of yourself, it brings too many legal problems for the site. Artwork of any kind, however, is just fine so long as it is tagged. If you are ever unsure if what you’re posting is or is not allowed ask a moderator.
Multiple Accounts – You will not create or use multiple accounts. Doing so will result in a ban for the newest account and warning points for the original. We're aware that sometimes, by chance, IP addresses line up. This is rare. If it does happen, don't be surprised if a staff member gets in touch. We're here to work with you and get things sorted quickly. To this end we ask that if you are aware of sharing your internet connection with another member you let us know so that we are aware – and therefore avoid unjustified action being taken.
Written Form – We also ask that you try your best to use correct English grammar and spelling. It makes you easier to understand, especially for those for whom English may be a second language. Please do not make use of l33t or txt speak on our forums (such as replacing the word "you" with the letter "u").
Advertising – Must be kept to the proper forum section and artists seeking commissioners will be allowed to make as many topics as they need in the appropriate forums, this includes chat and the discord server. FP reserves all rights to deny and remove advertisements of any kind as this is a free service.
Restricted Pages – You will not attempt to access any normally restricted pages on the forum, namely the Administrative Control Panel or another member’s account, we take security for the sites as well as our members seriously. This will get you permanently banned from the site.
Avatar & Signature – You may have an avatar and are allowed to have images in your signature. Please make sure that they are not too large, or contain content that shouldn't be visible outside of certain areas. Signatures and avatars may be removed at the staff's discretion.
Staff Instructions – You will heed any and all commands a member of staff gives you if they tell you to stop then you stop and take a step back. Users are not Staff and should report rule-breaking content or conduct to let the staff handle these cases. Users may calmly and respectfully explain the site policies to other users, but should not act as a "vigilante".
Art Theft/Plagiarism – If you claim artwork or literature that is not your own your account will be banned. The protection of our artists and authors is taken very seriously and theft will not be tolerated.
Discord/Chatbox – Our discord server follows with Discord's ToS and our site rules. Rules for the chatbox can be found in the rulebook button on the top right corner of the chatbox.
Termination of Service – We strive to bring our users a safe, comfortable and ultimately welcoming community, it is provided as a free service. As such, we reserve the right to terminate any account if staff deems necessary, for any reason, without warning.
