This is a thread where I might occasionally post some story beats I've mulled over once in a while. Not sure if anyone would have interest in it, but decided I'd share.

Itsuki Joshima | Nite-Runners 1

The Wangan Expressway. One of Tokyo's longest highways, stretching across the entirety of the city. Known among many for its long straights and wide-laned roads.

After the evening rush hour, the expressway goes quiet. The gaps between traffic become less dense, and as most of the city sleeps, other parts come alive.

Loud roars could be heard throughout the expressway as something comes to life...

Like a sonic boom, all that can be heard is the loud exhaust of a 4-cylinder Silvia barreling through the highway at high speeds, and like a flash, all that can be seen is a metallic blue blur. Engine running hot, the turbocharged Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-R is low to the ground, fitted with a body kit and carbon fiber wing from C-West, a carbon fiber hood for weight, and custom gold-colored rims.

Behind the windshield remained the golden eyes of a white avian buckled in the red bucket seat, eyes pointed straight ahead, never daring to glance away from the road as he floored it, the turbocharger pressure gauge needle climbing quickly, sending more air into the engine as the speedometer climbed past 320 KM/H, now over 200+ MPH. The Silvia weaved through the traffic, the avian remaining calm and collected despite the breakneck speeds.

TSSSSsssss...

K-Chnk!

BANG!

Itsuki let off the gas for a quick moment, the turbo dumping air pressure with a loud hiss as he threw the gear stick into sixth and put his foot back on the throttle, the titanium exhaust responding with a deafening, popping backfire. The tuned SR20DET engine roared, quickly climbing to nearly 9,000 RPM, the yellowish street lights guiding Itsuki's way. The traffic became a blur to him as he kept his foot down through a long, straight tunnel, the loud 4-cylinder engine reverberating through it and the turbo's powerful spooling whistle almost deafening as the boom turbocharger reached over 32 PSI, the Nissan engine glowing red hot beneath the hood as it was pushed to its absolute limit.

Itsuki was anything but scared. He simply slouched in his seat relaxed, yet grip still firm on the wheel. The speedometer read 350 KM/H, the Nissan getting faster still. For many, one mistake spelt instantaneous death. But Itsuki wasn't at all bothered by the thought. The tunnel lights left a glare on the bright blue metallic paint, whizzing by as quickly as the traffic... the other cars may as well have been sitting still relative to him at these speeds.
