Guild Wars 2

copied from the wiki here's what they say to each other if you're using Kalla (renegade)

If charr (male)Kalla: Do me proud, brother!<Character name>: I treat all with honor. If they deserve it.
If charr (female)Kalla: Do me proud, sister!<Character name>: You restored our right to fight for ourselves. I will honor your sacrifice!
If human Kalla: Not bad...for a mouse.<Character name>: Oh, you acknowledge I've done things now? Progress!

For everyone else here's what she'll say at times:
If asura Kalla: You remind me of myself as a cub. Young, scrappy...and tiny.<Character name>: That's odd. My sarcasm detector is malfunctioning.
If norn Kalla: I like you norn—you're survivors. Much like my people.<Character name>: Our legend shall be sung with the histories of old!
If sylvariKalla: Good thing you tree people weren't around when we were fighting the Flame Legion.<Character name>: Sadly, the world remains a dangerous place.

She also reacts to walking past her statue in Black citadel and if certain items are in your bags
Walking past the Statue of Kalla Scorchrazor in the Black Citadel Kalla: Nice statue. Good to know history was watching.
If Scorchrazor's Dagger is in inventory Kalla: They named a dagger after me? Some joker has a poor sense of humor.
If Scorchrazor's Fist is in inventory Kalla: A mace? For me? I can get behind that. Blunt. Solid. Hits you in the face.
If Meat Pie is in inventory Kalla: Oh. Hey. Meat pie! (sigh) I miss meat pies.

She's a fun one to have around, love her dialog but yeah poor humans she calls them mice XD

For those curious she does say things none race or circumstance bound, honestly may be one of two more common passive phrases she'll say just to chat
Kalla: I understand you brought soldiers of all nations together to fight the dragons.<Character name>: It's true. Defeating a dragon took the strength of all five races.
Kalla: You strike me as someone who never gives up. I like that.<Character name>: You never know when history will be watching.

She's honestly one of my favorites so my revenant may swap back to renegade after End of Dragons. It's because of Kalla after all the charr legions broke away from the flame legion and we were able to strike down those false gods..or well what i"m getting from her article. So happy they added a charr legendary stance...even if that helmet for renegade looks like a hand in some way

So... remember when I said I'd complete End of Dragon story on all of my characters ? I'm not sure I can anymore, because the meta event at Dragon's End map really breaks my heart.

Having to watch Soo-Won suffer in pain while the Void corruption possesses her and eats her alive inside out, is terrifying. Now, whenever I see signs of the Void in the world, I feel uneasy and nervous, worse than Zhaitan, Mordremoth, or anything in Secrets of the Obscure. Then, listening to Soo-Won's reflections and regrets about her wanting / failing to be a mother for the other dragons, is just too much.
I am definitely avoiding the meta at Dragon's End from now on. I just can't bring myself to watch Soo-Won suffer that much anymore.

In the story, we pull the Void out of her (I think ?), or at the very least she has accepted her fate that death is the only way for her to be free from her suffering, and for the world to be safe. She's not in pain as much, and at the end of the story, in her last moments, she's beautiful again, without the corruption corroding through her body and leaking out, she's... herself. At least then I know that, if she is in the Mists, she's not suffering pain anymore.

I kind of have this odd belief that, if someone passes away while still having physical injuries on their body (broken bones, open wounds, etc.), then they might still feel that pain even in the afterlife, or the pain is too much that they can't even move on. So... seeing Soo-Won no longer wrecked with Void torment in her last moments, has me convinced that she can truly rest in peace, so my heart is at peace too.

I'm now in the part at Gyala Delve, and... well, the Void certainly likes to mess with me. It makes me see Forgal, then Eir, then Almorra, being attacked by demons while blaming me for everything that's happened. But, it didn't even faze me as much as Soo-Won meta event breaks my heart.

I'm still struggling with Revenant, managing energy is pretty hard for me. Once I fully complete all 3 elite specializations for my Mesmer and Elementalist, I think I'll try to get back to Revenant back. If anything, at least I gotta try the new weapons that weren't available before (shield, greatsword and scepter).

Side note : All my characters now wear outfits so I don't have to worry about armor skins anymore (lol). Almorra wears Logan Pact Marshal outfit, it works pretty well with her Vigil weapons. I think I need to find something for my Necromancer, though ; she's currently wearing the Abyssak Stalker outfit but it doesn't really vibe with me anymore.

Revenants do get a talent (I forget which tree) that builds the energy for you if that helps, mine builds it like crazy just beating the ever living tar out of people. If you don't spam 5-9 though the balancing gets easier, not saying you do but some legendary spirits got moves that drain it like crazy. I think Shiro is one for example, he has an ability that makes you faster but it drains the energy bar like crazy then the demon's ult that shrouds them in darkness and makes foes suffer torment drains it kinda hard too. I'm honestly glad I took that one ability off that hits me with torment when i use that demon ability as god that killed me more than my foes...idk why I ever chose it to begin with. Oh and seems Alliance stance has voice lines if you're also using Shiro... the two stances supposedly talk crap about each other.

I got my griffin unlocked today but...it's lackluster atm...need to fill out its' abilities first as all it does right now is float. Finally got every mount and... idk... my guardian's also almost mastered all their stuff elite specs and such...but that makes me wonder why did they leave us with the chance to have possibly hundreds of excess hero points. I'm now wondering if they're bragging rights when they become excess or if they've got a purpose I'm not aware of as I've never maxed a class before. Holosmith also apparently has huge shoulder pads for charr.... only found that out looking at my engineer seeing they're also close to maxing out the elite specs. I am glad all the same..I'll never have to repeat the skyscale or griffin chains as dear god they drove me nuts on certain parts. The runes for griffin and well I think I ahd a crazy time chasing after baby skyscale as he required world bosses at one point... honestly in comaprison Griffin was easier despite that corrutped Facet fight I had to do blind or god forbid realize what was going on in the library after Kormir gave the world the finger and left us to clean up the dragons and her crazed fellow god.

I got the turtle pretty quick, since I got lucky with the events ; it's pretty fun, especially if you have another player with you while at it.

Unlocking the griffin requires 250 gold... and I much prefer to save that money for something else, especially since I have the dragon now. Thank goodness SOTO lets you get the dragon the easy way, because I honestly cannot imagine going through the PoF method, especially if some require successful events in such messy maps.

Oh and Kormir and the gods ? They brought the humans to Tyria, then just peace out while Balthazar and the elder dragons ravaged through the world. Some gods they are, huh ?

As for elite specializations, so far I have fully trained...
  • Warrior : Berserker, Spellbreaker and Bladesworn
  • Guardian : Dragonhunter, Firebrand, Willbender
  • Revenant : (none yet)
  • Ranger : Druid, Soulbeast, Untamed
  • Engineer : Scrapper, Holosmith, Mechanist
  • Necromancer : Reaper, Scourge, Harbinger
  • Elementalist : Catalyst
  • Mesmer : Virtuoso

I don't know why they leave us with excessive hero points, but I still think it's convenient in some way. If you can get all hero points of just 2 DLCs, you can have enough points for ALL 3 elite specializations. If you think HoT maps are a pain in the ass (because I really do), you can instead opt for PoF and EoD maps instead, where the hero points are a lot easier to get to.

Yeah PoF skyscale chain put me through hell to get but it felt worth the pain...then SOTO just gives them to you for cheap which felt bittersweet but the mysteries from SOTO did help me really love the power it had. Gryphon is funny enough quick if using a guide, requires certain events in certain spots but its all in path of fire zones. Was bored and had the gems laying around to get the gold needed but still drove me nuts and took two days. It...also starts out dumb till you get the mysteries that grant it powers but its not a huge deal of a mount. Griffin works best if you got a lot of room in the air and start up high... reminds me of WoW's dragonriding with the dive mechanic

After several PvP matches in the past, I still honestly don't know what I'm supposed to do, other than trying to kill other players and survive. Just now, I decided to try PvP, and joined a 'daily room' (custom arena), thinking it's a sort of open/public rooms for players to join. Without understanding what I'm supposed to do, I just captured point and tried to survive other players' attacks. That is, until one of the players in the enemy team called me out on it, telling me, if I need kills I can ask, otherwise I should avoid those 'daily rooms' or I'd get people upset.

So, what I can gather from that, is the daily rooms are for people to just be easy targets, for others to kill and claim daily rewards ?

Then I tried queuing for unranked match... waited 5+ minutes and still nothing. At that point, no thanks. I'm going back to PvE.

Yeah PvP is kind of a mess right now, makes it real awkward if you need stuff as you either get lobbies of people who kill you on sight or you gotta ask and they'll let you kill them for daily stuff. The guy who first introduced me to Guild Wars 2 dragged me through those lobbies a ton...then I think last thing I ever did with him was get screamed at for walking to the bank and not standing around to watch a bunch of male charr dancing naked in the middle of lion arch. Never explained to me why he was mad or how I offended him only calling me every curse word he could think of before logging off. Not in party chat either..no he yelled at me in normal talk so much that I got whispered by one of the dancers asking if I was alright and what just happened and all I could tell him is I had no clue either. A few weeks later that guy unfriended me and never seen him since, he even quit the guild he got me into as they liked having me around and weren't going to just drop me because he said to so... yeah I avoid PvP in guild wars now as it reminds me of that guy...kinda stained the mode entirely.

On another note I started PoF living world on my revenant last night, found it hilarious you can for one moment channel Joko's power to break out of a cell and you hear his voice freaking out to an extent when you do so. Did..remind me..poor taimi got put through so much trauma because of Joko.... reminds me why I always want that lich to die in the worst of ways as she's just an innocent cinnamon bun and she could of died because of him. Sadly the fight with her mech to free her of it..glitched out on me and I had to reset which wasn't that as bad as when i got to the next chapter's boss fight and my computer decided to cut off its connection to the internet on me right as I was about to kill her... hate when it does that as it wasn't the internet going down oh no but just a small hiccup in connection. Realized it got late and figured meh I'll do it tomorrow lol. Funny how after doing the living world chapters a couple times I'm able to speed through them now... although god I wanted to throat punch Braham when he accused me of putting Taimi in danger. Going to love beating him senseless in icebrood saga as god he's my least favorite ally, like come on already let me kill the guy but nope he's important now... at least he's not whining in my ear anymore in current content but still. Rox is a real wonderful gal, happy she finds where she belongs and where she can be happy. Sorta..funny the charr tribe we find has people wearing the renegade mask...I could in a sense act like I was one of them as I also got that helm lol

Wow. What a rude jerk.

I just don't feel like getting into PvP anymore either, another reason is, the user interface is confusing. And why do I need to buy some kind of kit, just to make custom arena ? It makes no sense. I should just be able to create room, choose the game mode I want, then set the number of players allowed, and other options, then leave the room there while waiting for players to join, for free. But no, instead I either have to queue for unranked match (which takes who knows how damn long), or join a 'daily room' and get cussed out again, without anyone ever actually telling me how things work.

And don't get me started with world VS world. UI is even more confusing and hard to navigate, the whole thing is generally super hard to understand.

After Almorra, Rox is my favorite charr. Real cute, too. Although, during the Icebrood Saga, Rox's voice... sounds rather older than her appearance (which to me looks like a young cat girl (lol)). Still, she deserves happiness, and I'm glad she doesn't have to try to stick with Braham because ugh.

Side note, I'm going to change the stats of all ascended armor currently worn on my Ranger, because... I just now see that she falls short in terms of both survivability and damage. Her ascended equipment right now have power, condition damage and vitality, but her damage is still pretty low compared to my Necromancer and Elementalist (with the same stat combination, but exotic gear). I'm going to change back to strike damage for the Ranger, not condition damage anymore ; I'm choosing berserker stats (power, precision and ferocity), with emphasis on power, and equip Rune of the Deadeye (power, precision and ferocity), to really boost her power.

Also thinking of using longbow instead of axe... even though I'm not really a fan of the longbow damage scales up with distance between the Ranger and the target (similar to Mesmer greatsword).

Wow. What a rude jerk.
yeah and that was only the last day I dealt with him, the guy was the kind that would blow up at you for things and treat you like crap then demand you apologize to them for whatever they think you did. I don't miss them in the slightest, thankful for their help finding a wonderful guild but that's about it. He was always so pushy and demanding the few times i played payday with him but I did get the jackal mask I wanted so.... okay I suppose...despite the fact he ran a newb through the hardest difficulty and yelled at me whenever I got kicked in the face... and he even had me left for dead more times than I'd like to count. Anyways... yeah he..kinda ruined the fun for me with PvP

As for changing the stats on your gear would the dragon inscription work? Forget what it is but I got it on a few ascended weapons and whenever I use that weapon my character seems hard to kill, not sure if stats or if I'm getting decent at the game. On another note I really hate the sniper mission, lucked out and downed her with torment but I didn't beat her in time and she downed me with her rifle a few times...mainly due to branded blowing me out of cover but yeah hate that fight. Happy Rox finds a happy life but Braham yeah no he's thrown his fists my way and such far too much he can stay sad and lonely for all I care, almost wish I had dialog options when he asks why I never slugged him for his BS as I'd of replaced any words with punching him square in the nose instead of the bonding over loss crap they say by default. Dang it my revenant handles things fiercely not with charm or dignity so let me punch the fool in the face already (not that any of the way your character carries theirself mean anything besides nature of responses they'd likely give)

I found the inscription for the prefix "Dragon's", power / ferocity / precision / vitality. I think it can be used too.

Though, stats can only get you so far, I'd definitely say your actual skills with the game matter more. Even with the best equipment possible, I doubt I can really do much if I'm just a complete noob, y'know.

I realized I did a lot better with strike-damage Untamed than condition-damage Untamed... so, definitely changing back. Though, I'm not using the Rune of the Ranger anymore, it stacks up mostly precision and only a bit of ferocity ; even if ALL my attacks are critical hits, they wouldn't do much damage with so little ferocity anyway. If I feel like doing condition damage, I have Harbinger (Necromancer) and Catalyst (Elementalist) to do it. Otherwise, strike damage is the way to go.

No matter who you are and what your experience of the game so far has been... we all hate that dang norn with a passion (lol).

I think if you're going to focus on crit hits as a ranger your weapons doing those crits need sigils that do stuff like leech health and make your foes suffer torment or idk get hit by ice or fire. Would be odd not to but everyone plays things differently which is perfectly fine, think there may be a sigil that poisons people you crit too and that could be fun with the right relic.

As for hating that Norn...yeah I mean hey i get it he lost his mother but rather than let us comfort him and bond he immediately tells the player to screw off and blames them for her death and proceeds to be a massive piece of crap towards you till maybe end of the PoF living world. Our hatred of him is justified, I'm finding it funny every time he's talked to his mom she pretends he doesn't exist or claims her legend was more important than raising him and he blames us for that somehow. We don't get to truly kick the every living tar out of him till what after the halfway mark of icebrood but god every time he talks crap towards me for stuff that saved the world I just want to punch him. It's so bad in my own little headcanon my characters have kicked his butt so bad in icebrood that we won't be seeing any Braham juniors but hey whatever saving the world from the idiocy if that proves to ever be true. Honestly has me wondering if I need to dust off the hammer on my revenant just for those fights but that may be a bit excessive... bladed weapons leave longer lasting reminders for him to watch his dang mouth when speaking to his supposed friend and commanding officer. I mean hey it's fine to be upset losing someone but he becomes so bad Joko is a nicer guy than him to an extent and I hated Joko so much I fed him to a dragon, worse Braham admits he barely even knew his mother yet he gets all in my face pushing me around talking down to me and such when he knows quite well there was no way we could fo saved her.... I've had moments where I wished Braham would die just so I won't ever have to deal with his bs anymore...sadly that doesn't happen as he pops up in the current story for maybe a moment or so just to let the player know the P.I.T.A. Norn is still alive. I mean hey there is plenty of folk in the game I don't like but Braham beats all of them hands down, I hate the guy worse than the most annoying villains. Braham says he's going to help you but pretty much jsut stands there forcing you to do everything for him even in fights then has the nerve to say he helped when he was just sitting around in the corner eating paste

I changed my Ranger's build to full power, precision and ferocity now, and just keep it simple with longbow, hammer and Command skills. I keep the traits

Also, I just noticed the newest update for Ranger, where each core specialization has a trait that improves a pet family.
  • Wolfsong (Marksmanship) : Canine Beast skills cause vulnerability and reveal stealthed enemies, and you do 10% extra damage to vulnerable enemies.
  • Fang and Claw (Skirmishing) : Feline, avian and drake pets gain increased precision and ferocity, and Beast skills grant fury.
  • Arachnophobia (WIlderness Survival) : Spiders' Spit and devourers' Twin Darts now cause torment too, and you and your pets gain expertise. Spiders and devourers gain even more expertise.
  • Allies' Aid (Nature Magic) : Moa pets grant barrier to nearby allies with their Beast skills. You cast "Search and Rescue" when you begin reviving an ally.
  • Beastly Warden (Beastmastery) : Beast skills taunt nearby enemies. Ursines and porcines have increased health and do more damage.

Nothing regarding aquatic pets like sharks and jellyfish, it seems. Eh well, you have plenty of amphibious pets anyway (though I don't understand how FELINES and BEARS are amphibious lol).

Also, I tried to grit my teeth through Living World season 3 last night, where I had to 'help' Rox and Braham find the scroll in an ice cave. He rushed in, got Rox frozen, and had the balls to talk back at us instead of even so much as apologizing to Rox for getting her in danger. Then just walked off. UUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh... fucking Braham.

I don't understand how FELINES and BEARS are amphibious
yeah idk about felines but bears do tend to tread water to gather fish, I want to say mainly polar bears but nope brother bear had kodiaks and such doing that so it's a bear thing. I can't see cats doing that as they hate water although i guess maybe snow leopards don't mind the cold as much.

I got like two rangers but my main one has a arctic wolf and a plant wolf, arctic wolf chills with its howl and plant one heals me with its howl. So I may need to go after that canid bonus. Having to still debate what elite spec to go for though as the constant I've decided on is long bows so whatever elite determines secondary weapon set. I might go for hammer but the knife one could work well with maybe an axe... we'll see though focusing on revenant right now.

Yeah i've done that ice cave one too and I wanted to whoop his butt for that too, he's like a very angry teenager that I'm glad he never gets closure with his mother at this point. Hearing Eir tell him she felt her legend was more important to her than raising him and seeing him look so sad was delightful to me

Untamed really helps me improve damage, and lets me control the pets better, able to directly tell the pet when to use which attack, so they don't just do it on their own. When your pet is unleashed (F5), the skills F1 F2 and F3 are bursts of AOE damage that can help to pressure the enemies' defiance bar too (especially F3) ; when your character is unleashed, weapon skill 1 becomes "Unleashed Ambush" with good damage and siphon health. Though, when your character is unleashed, hammer skills 4-5 also change from crowd control to buffs ; no other weapons change their skills.

I liked dual axes for Ranger, but now I'm in love with longbow ; super long range, and can pierce through multiple targets with the right trait. Pair it with "Hunter's Gaze" (gain might whenever hitting a target based on their health percentage), "Potent Ally" (gain might whenever landing a critical hit) and maybe "Bountiful Hunter" (increase damage dealth with each boon you currently have), and you can do some pretty damn good damage, I imagine.

As much as I really don't like him, I feel like part of him behaving like this is due to him not having closure with his mother in the first place... and due to her prioritizing her legend than him. So, he gets frustrated and just vents it on the player.

That doesn't excuse his reckness actions putting Rox in danger, but still, dude really should just stop and take a step back. He's a NORN but he's not having his cool, he's more hot-headed than some Flame legion, I swear.

Dual axes is amazing for ranger, my norn ranger has that going and she wrecks people. I'd of copied it to my charr ranger too but I don't like my characters having the exact same weaponry build as both use longbow so the other weapons gotta differ too.

His hot headed behavior if I recall is why the spirits ignore him, he's wolf kin and can become a werewolf at one point but the spirits don't talk to him for a good while and even call his choice to be the champion of Primordius to be crazy yet he still does it and the experience drains him afterwards. Flame legion is smarter than him at times and that's sad seeing as flame legion has at times killed their own for power only for it to backfire on them soon after
