So I'm opening up this thread as a place to discuss all things about the long-running "space ninja" game.

Geez, I think it's been around... easily 14-15 years by this point? But yeah, it's gone through enough iterations that the game now is nothing like the one experienced a decade ago.

Borrowing this from the Gaming Goals thread to draw the discussion here:

So in my pursuit to get back to the Warframe story I did the event going on and well..what kind of missions is the rider warframe best for? I did a few missions and managed to get her for free more or less but now I can't figure out what to use on her and where to try her out. Also come to recall i hate the capture the flag missions and survival but Mag to my surprise was okay for survival as my Frost's not high enough but...I think I made her too fragile

Another game goal i've got now is to find out where exactly in Warframe I get access to a horse mount as now that I got the rider I'm wondering where to get that although I'd still prefer the motorcycle but we'll see what happens whenever I get that deep. Had to bring randoms into the capture the flag mission and one of the guys did nothing but shoot me.... I was killing foes and keeping them from retaking the point as it was one they swarm so...yeah idk anymore lol. We really need a warframe discussion thread at this point I feel guilty unloading warframe stuff here ^^;

The rider Warframe? Oh, do you mean Dagath by any chance? I'll admit she's not one of my regulars, so I don't know what she's best for.

Mag... I will admit I'm not much of a user of Mag either, and her frailty is exactly why.

The horse mount is Duviri and the motorcycle... you'll need to complete a lot more material to reach that motorcycle. I... think you might actually be able to access Duviri now, since it says Duviri Paradox requires the Uranus junction to be done. Catch is, to use the Kaithe in the Open World missions you need to level up Drifter Intrinsics.

Funny thing, I always forget there is a Kaithe Summon.

Regarding Interception, I've noticed that pattern - enemies will generally all focus on a single point at a time. Makes them easy to chokepoint.

Yeah until the 18th Dagath can be built for almost free as four alert jobs give you everything to make her, they also released a horse themed skin for her in honor of Year of the Horse. I started with Mag but mainly as the idea that I could magnetize people and lock foes in a death bubble where every round shot into it is trapped in it with them...sounded fun. Her fragile state though... yeah I..will be looking into Frost. I tried Voruna, I tried Ember...that survival mission sucks ass as...most the foes are mechs and fire was pointless against them so Ember got thrashed. Voruna's sniper is wild though...like a machine gun mixed with a sniper, most foes die first shot but Interception was rough. I'd capture a point then try to grab another but by the time I captured a second the enemy swarmed the one I had grabbed and insta captured it..and it was a losing spree till i joined a public lobby for it and then it was cake. The enemies swarmed my point so i stuck around it and slaughtered them while my allies grabbed the others. Still..unsure why that one guy kept swinging his melee at me or shooting my feet but with how heavy they swarmed my point if I'd left it we'd of lost it as nobody helped me.

I did also notice today i got more warframe than i recall, I got Nova for example and...some warframe that looks cut in two... his name escapes me but more so I don't recall where he came from. I got rhino I got Ember I got frost and Excalibur, Voruna and Valkyr. Is..Valkyr any fun by chance I keep seeing videos of her slashing people with her claws but is that her ability or is there a claw weapon? Also..got the recipe recently for the module to create those cat companions but...I don't know where the crystal for those comes from. Some weapon recipes need those crystals too but... I kinda focused mostly the story and random stuff before so I..don't think i got the equipment for fishing which i guess is needed for some things. Really feels like I got side tracked at one point ^^;

Interception... the best advice I can give you is to look for any 'Frame that slows down massive amounts of enemies. I stand by Frost and Nova for this purpose, even though there may be better slowdown 'Frames. And... I always forget how different low-level public play gets compared to higher tiers, but I don't know why the one guy kept attacking you either.

The 'cut in two' 'Frame? You might have to spell out an ability or two of theirs, as my first impression given your level is that you're talking about Equinox and... she's one of the most annoying early 'Frame grinds as you have to get seven parts for her instead of four. (Not a regular of mine, as you can tell.)

Valkyr's not part of my general stable as button-mashing isn't my thing, but as for the claws... the answer is "both". Her fourth ability is the one that brings out her claws, but there is also a claw weapon type (the Venka being an example of it). The videos are probably about the fourth ability as that gives her a whole lot of defensive staying power.

Crystals for weapon recipes and the cat companion module... okay, so you're probably talking about Argon Crystals, and that is not a resource you want to farm until you absolutely need it. The fact that particular resource comes from the Void is not the issue - it's because it's the only resource that decays over time. You roughly have... two rollovers from the time you pick them up until they start decaying. Genuinely, what I will say is to get every other resource for the weapons or modules you're trying to build before going to the Void to get more Argon Crystals - that way, the minute you get the crystal, you can build whatever you need. It's pretty much one of the few reasons I even go to the Void these days.

So I had to pull up the warframe page, seems the one I meant as far as sliced in half is Caliban. Was real late last night when I mentioned them I thought they got sliced in two or whatever. I can now however give a better list to the frames I've got starting with Caliban, I got Frost, Ember, Mag, Excalibur, Rhino, Nova, Voruna, and Dagath. I've got blueprints but not all parts for Chroma, Gara, and I'd like to say Garuda but idk for sure. I got the recipe for Saryn but I've yet to reach Sedna so she'll take a bit for me to get. Kinda neat but the page also gives you suggestions for what each frame is best at and Frost is crowd control and survival but it also says Rhino is good for survival

Going to link warframe page as it gives the list of them all https://www.warframe.com/game/warframes

Ah, Caliban. That's another in the very long list of "not used that often".

So, I might as well give the list of the 'Frames that I DO use:
  • Nova: Nova is by far my most used 'Frame. For one reason - Molecular Prime. Doubles damage enemies take, and they explode. And they also move slower... or faster. With the sheer number of grinds, she's my favorite for anything Defense or Interception.
  • Harrow: Shield restoration, an insane attack speed buff, and temporary invincibility. Harrow's a favorite for anything that involves taking out bosses.
  • Oberon: Another fun pick for Defense or Interception. Puts a field out that prevents bad status, can heal other 'Frames, and can slam enemies down. With an augment, he can give the entire team Radiation damage - remember this.
  • Frost: Way back when, this guy was my favorite for any of the defense missions. He's kind of been power-crept, but I use an augment that lets him give others Overguard with his fourth ability for a little extra staying power.
  • Wisp: A lot of late-game play involves blitzing through missions in under three minutes. I load up Wisp with Ability Strength and use her reservoirs - that way everyone can be sped up easily. The Reservoirs are all I really use her for.
  • Volt or Gauss: If I know I don't have to speed others up but we still need to hustle, they're my picks.
  • Loki: A reliable stealth 'Frame, nowadays I only bring him out for specific Riven challenges.
  • Trinity: So there's a later upgrade to your Orbiter that can let you take one ability of a given 'Frame and replace it with one specific ability from another 'Frame. I took Trinity's first ability and replaced it with Oberon's Smite, used the augment for Radiation damage, and she's my pick whenever I need to deal with the Eidolons.
  • Excalibur: He's just someone I bring out once in a while for variety. Really early on, there was this program where you could get a Primed version of him and two of the basic weapons - and I got his Prime but not the weapons.
  • Saryn: Any time I'm in the Sanctuary, I bring out Saryn. She is one of the top picks for that place.
  • Mesa: This gunslinger is an alternative for Defense or Survival.
Beyond that, there is a later Orbiter upgrade where you can empower one of three 'Frames for a week with two buffs. I will sometimes pick 'Frames based solely on that.

Though the one 'Frame I despise with a burning passion is Titania. In high-level play, with those speed missions, you sometimes see a Titania with one of Gauss's abilities. One of them shows up, and you lose pretty much all agency as they'll slaughter everything in the mission before you've passed through three rooms. I grew tired of seeing EVERY. SINGLE. MISSION. having this type of Titania.

EDIT: Also, I said I'd elaborate on getting caught up on Nightwave... let's just say that after my attempt to do that today, I must have been a month or more behind because I had at least three "complete 15 missions" to do. And I'm STILL not caught up at this point.

Hmm I've not tried out Nova yet, had her a while but I'm slowly getting around to my other frames. Of that list I've got Nova, Frost, and Excalibur so yeah we've got a good few different frames. I was at one point thinking to see how speed crazy Volt was but..he requires I find a clan apparently which means I also can't build Chroma to try him out as he requires a volt piece. Although I need an extra piece from Saryn for Chroma so I may sit on my hands about that big warframe for a while. I'm guessing Chroma is like..a dragon frame or something?

I unlocked Pluto last night but now I've got a good few things to get done to access Eris and after Eris I'll finally get to Sedna. I..just gotta make sure I get the story jobs done and I'll get to building Saryn before I know it. The arm laser weapon..is an odd one though, I needed Argon crystals for the personal quarters but ended up with extra so i made the arm laser... it needs a bit of experimenting for me to understand it. On one of the jobs I did I got a grenade launcher blueprint too so.. another weapon to test out possibly when i level another frame. Is..there ever a point where I can have blueprints for idk slots like warframe and weapon slots or am I stuck buying those?

Also finished War Within last night so I got access to my operator's powers but...does the whole light or darkness thing have any effect or is it a personal thing? Oh speaking of light and darkness do I get the equinox aspects of day and night from the same guy who drops her parts as I need both day and night to build her

As for the Nightwave I'm also dabbling with it trying to see what all i can get before it rolls over to the next cycle but I did a rescue mission a couple nights ago with someone who had the nightwave ship. That thing blasted some weird sound that reminded me of claws on a chalkboard and when we got into the mission anytime I got close to the guy that sound came back. Is that normal as my god I thought my ears were bleeding after that job and I even turned volume down too and still was obnoxiously loud. Think they were playing that kind of Titania you mentioned as well as they were zooming along and I'd walk into rooms of corpses. I never got to even swing my blade as everyone ahead of me was dead

As clans go... honestly, I'd say just get any one that's got a lot of stuff unlocked. I've actually run a tiny clan before and even that's a massive, MASSIVE chore, so nowadays I just piggyback off a big one.

Yeah, Chroma's as close as we're getting to a dragon 'Frame. Breath attack, elemental ward, and his pelt can turn into a sentry.

The arm laser... arm laser that needs Argon... you'll have to get the name of it. I can think of either Atomos or Sonicor, and Atomos is more hand-held than arm-attached and Sonicor's more like an arm cannon.

Grenade launcher, I believe you mean either Penta or Tonkor. Penta... I really don't like. Tonkor on the other hand - oh wait, you finished War Within? You can level Tonkor for Mastery, but if you've beaten War Within, I strongly advise you go after the Rising Tide story quest. With the reward from that, there's actually quite a few better variants of weapons (including the Tonkor) that open up. Though... getting those variants is a bit labor-intensive, trust me.

The light or darkness thing? Oh, you mean alignment? That actually has very little impact on the game itself. As for Equinox... that is precisely why she's such an annoying grind - but yes, both day and night drop from the same guy.

The Nightwave ship... I confess I don't use that power (there's a different ship support power I use, whatever one scans the area for valuables). However, if you're bringing up Titania and ear-bleeding sound, that may be because they've swapped in Gauss's Thermal Sunder power, which is the combo I despite and it IS supposed to sound like that. I've learned to hate that sound. (I actually don't even use that power the few times I play Gauss.)

Would a clan just let someone in who's only goal was access to blueprints and such? I mean if I gotta do jobs with clan mates that's fine although I'd be mostly after blueprints and stuff to make my warframes stronger more than anything

Chroma also has a skin that makes him look like a dragon but I've only seen him in videos and normally with heavy weapon so I'm guessing he's a bulky frame?

The arm laser was from a recipe I got for unlocking Neptune if that helps at all. I was able to use it from rank five I think it starts out blue. I'll see about getting its name all the same, although I've yet to get my hands on a lot of weapon types it seems. I built I think it's called Gorgon thinking it was a shotgun but it's a machine gun. Also..confusing seeing the throwing knives you can get real early on count as a pistol but given it's not a melee weapon I suppose that..makes some sense. As for the grenade launcher..yeah it was the Penta... I'm guessing it under preforms compared to Tonkor?

Oh..so i could of brutally murdered that queen and gone full darkness and it'd of had little effect... hmm. Still think making her rot to death was a more fitting punishment...death is instant but letting her rot without her support seems fitting for her crimes. Is Equinox a worth while frame to have by chance? Wondering if the long grind for her parts is worth it or not.

Wait..that awful noise was an ability he kept spamming? I thought it was from the nightwave ship itself... yeah no then it was for sure a Titania with that gauss ability I ran into then. Why would they seriously give a warframe such a power that causes such a god awful noise?

Edit: arm laser seems to be called Gammacor. Oh and I got a railjack now...and seem to have created a Kuva Lich
