Here's a fun one that I've already seen at other forums: Tell us about your love life!

To do this, you take a book, open it at page 26 and post the third sentence on this page here. Because that sentence describes your love life.

I guess I'll begin:
"The weird thing was that we kept going, for six weeks at least."

OMG this is perfect. The book I'm currently reading (The Blind Assassin) page 26, sentence three states:

"I promise, no tramps or maniacs here, except me"

IRL though, never had one, so :P

"A million people moved away from the countryside" (translated from Finnish)
-"Sosiaalipolitiikan lähtökohdat", by Kyösti Raunio

There's no need to flee the countryside, people! I know I am mating a lot, but I am a (mostly) gay rat, so there won't be any rodent population explosion or anything :O

"A door stood open, and within she saw the attendant upon the girl she had just left; the maid with the curious name."
- Little Dorrit, Charles Dickens

Hmmh~ owo is this supposed to mean my ex moved on swiftly? Shd could have told me she's into maids!

"Ginger Ted clambered on to a pile of sacks and lit a cigarette"
-"Collected Short Stories Vol. 2" of W. Somerset Maugham, by Pan Books

G-Ginger Ted :O
I didn't know you were into feral rats :O
Also, could you at least wait until we are finished before you start smoking >:I

Had to get a bit creative with this one, because there's a massive preface and I don't count that as part of the book, but I think this is right:

"For some we loved, the loveliest and the best,
That from his vintage rolling Time has pressed,
Have drunk their cup a round or two before,
And one by one crept silently to rest."

The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, Fitzgerald translation

"They were called Children's Lines." - Dark Places, by Gillian Flynn

I borrowed a few of Flynn's books from my mother since I ran out of new ones, and I gotta say they're definitely books a middle-aged (or older) woman would read. 😋

"And we boys started trampin' to our neighbors and askin' for money" (Translated from Finnish)
-Meiläm Pojjaat, by Yrjö Vasama

Hey, we ratbois were in heat anyway. Might as well get something out of it, that's just efficient! :3

surreptitiously slips you a bunch of money, shifting my eyes from side to side
Don't tell anyone about the part with the yogurt >w>

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Then it was not fat, or red, or big."
- A Big Ball of String by Marion Holland

Well ehm... I... hmm~ you know.... ah~ ... look I can't always be at the ready, ok?

Argh, two in a row, but this one was just too good to waste:

"I gave her one, they gave him two,
You gave us three or more;
They all returned from him to you,
Though they were mine before."

Lewis Carroll - Selected Poems
(Specifically, 'Evidence read at the trial of the Knave of Hearts')

"The old bishop shook his head gravely."
-"Isä Camillo vauhdissa", Giovanni Guareschi

Oi! Don't judge meh! Sure the things I get up to are obscene and degenerate and head-tiltingly weird even for a rat, but.... I forget what my point was.
