i purchased some materials recently to get started on one or two new fursuit heads. over the past few days, i've been chipping away at the initial bits of this first one; making the bucket base, planning out the basic facial shapes and cutting the shapes out onto the foam. ive made a head once before so i have a little bit of experience under my belt, but i'm otherwise still a novice at this sorts. this is what i have so far:

im a little iffy on how much the bill might block my line of sight when i cut out the eyeholes, but i'll just have to wait and see if trimming stuff down will make it a little less of a concern.

this head's gonna be for my critter honksea. he's a design ive had for a year now based off the character swansea from the video game mouthwashing (of whom ive developed an abnormally strong attachment to - theres all sorts of bits and bobs related to him spread about my bedroom). he's a swan-goose hybrid, better known as a swoose (which has become the nickname all my friends give him, lol). here's a pic of him from his ref sheet and the rough planning i did for a vague idea as to what im trying to go for. (i doubt it'll end up bang-on model, but i'll try my best to be as close as possible)

im hoping this head doesnt take me as long as my previous one; i was so skittish about messing something up on it that it took me an entire year to complete it, lol. i'll post more about it as i work on it. if i remember to, of course.
