I wish humans were naturally shapeshifters.
Imagine it! <lol> Humans could just will themselves to change gender at will. That would be so cool and convenient! Just have the parts you want as you want them when you need them. I'm dancing RN and I wanna be curvy with big boobs to bounce and sway and if we were shapeshifters I could! Sex and appearance would never matter as people would be forced to judge each other by what's inside...after all the outside could change at a whim depending on mood.
It would solve racism, sexism, body shaming, gender fluidity and identity issues....a lot of 'isms" actually. Maybe next evolution of humanity?

Oh, you underestimate the absolute pettiness of humanity if you think natural shapeshifting would solve any of those.
What I think is more likely is that people would settle on a few "stable" forms to suit their needs and that's it. Yes, even if they had it from the start. I think of the mental and hormonal ramifications of having more than three or four forms and I see much greater odds of someone completely flipping their lid and going psycho than someone actually developing a sense of caring.
And you'd still have someone trying to dictate that certain forms are inherently superior in more circumstances than they actually are - or shunning people that refuse to take certain forms on one of your own whims.
And this is all before we try to introduce a civilization and social strata based on wealth, a factor with absolutely no physical internal basis...
Let's just say you're looking at way more fixes than the body.
I'd settle for at least the ability to be a werewolf in reality, to for a time be something I'd be more comfortable with as it really does get depressing seeing all the things humanity does and feeling...ashamed or embarrassed to be human at times. Being a wolf person I'd at least regain some pride and comfort, perhaps the strength needed to stand up for myself better as well. Natural shape shifting though... would really take a bite out of the greedy doctors who profit off all the medication and such it takes to change ones self. People who desire to try out being female or feel that they should of been such being able to do so without issue or complications would make people happy to some extent yeah. Although I feel like there would need to be limitations as you'd have to worry about people transforming into other people and impersonating them and the like
One thought I had in the shower today is I hope the next story update to Guild Wars 2 adds the missing voice lines, I so badly want to resume the Janthir campaign with my charr gal as her being a mute is so depressing lately

One very real concern with shapeshifters would be impersonation of other people and objects in an area. One would inherently have to distrust the people around himself as well as his own environment. Carry a gun and give every single individual person a unique identifying code of some kind. Crime of opportunity is very common without a reasonable expectation of identification or consequences.

I don’t know but I bet they’re producing half a pound of treacle when they do.
I wonder if we'll see a remaster of Final Fantasy tactics for the Switch 2 as god I'd love to actually finish that game. That or even being able to play the spin offs from the hand held days. I really hope that Switch 2 isn't going to be a disappointment of a console
