If this is a real question, it usually means 'one', or 'single'. There may be exceptions.
Monolingual: only one language.
Monochromatic: only one color.
Monotonous: only one aspect.

In Finnish, "mono" = ski boot.
So a monolingual person is someone who speaks the language of the ski boots.
A monochromatic thing is colored like a ski boot is.
Being monotonous means that you have a similar aspect to a ski boot.
