Last Post Wins ][: The Resurgence

Yeah, no, the problem was monetary, cuz lots of people were willing to cooperate to keep the place up, but complete laziness by the higher ups. Maybe, next time, don't put someone with a generic anime pfp at the top of the decision making of a furry website (who, btw, is no longer at FA, even) All that, just so that the main person responsible for the decision of deleting the site is no longer around after year of it happening.... Grrrr, still so angry about that.

Was it really confirmed who was responsible for the decision, though? I recall there was a lot of speculation, but that's all there was iirc 🤔

I dunno, and personally I don't care, all I know is that a) all of that could have been avoided had they just listened to reason and b) you should always put actual members of a community e.g. furry, who are for-the-community, in charge of a community hosting website rather than people who only care about money and their personal convenience

And that's it :3

I'm not sure why they don't want to try being supported via donations... but I suspect that they probably think that the FA+ thing is an equivalent method of getting financial support from the users, and from that basis deemed that financial support from the community would be insufficient to keep the site going 🤔

I think the activity on the side was pretty low aswell. I'm guilty myself because over time I didn't go there anymore. I guess because a lot of people I knew there left over time. But the outrage and the boost in activity at the end should've shown that there is still interest there, it just needed to be promoted or somethig to keep people active or something.

it's similar to when they changed the coca cola formula. It was taken for granted until it's taken away.

I recall a few people saying they didn't know FA had a forum. Somehow, I managed to find it, but I guess it was because I was pretty used to looking for forum based communities on portals I liked, from Sonic-related ones to modding-related to music etc, and interacting on them.

But I don't know... It's a very distinct way of interacting. I like to believe forums will experience a revival at some point, where the new people will discover it, get curious and make it a trend again when super-fast IM groups become 'old'

Interesting. Not really like the layout I think. It seems pretty active tho.
Yeah it takes some getting used to as far as the current trends are concerned. I guess a lot of it appeals to me personally as it reminds me of old communities I used to frequent... especially those sparkly, pixelated gifs and signature buttons. licks lips

If you want to check it out and let me know how it is :3 But it's maybe a good idea to try to get some activity in here, instead of jumping to one forum to another.

I found it because I have a tendency to look through menus on websites to see what kind of features there are, haha. But really, they really did not draw attention to the forums at all, a lot of furries have told me they had no idea FA had a forum :O

I hope so. I really dislike the way all of the social media services use eternal scrolling now. It's really hard to interact with older stuff, and all everyone ever is focused on is the latest stuff, whatever that is :I

I also don't understand how TWITTER, of all possible alternatives, became the to-go furry social media service to begin with. It was like the worst of all available options, with the eternal scrolling, the inability to conveniently search for older posts, and the character limit. I mean, this was even the service that people used to display their art. Instead of, you know, any of the active and existing gallery sites. What the hell, people! :O

indignant rat-squeaks
rat clenches fist of rage
pushes away another rat as he tries to eat from the food bowl I was eating from (okay, that one had nothing to do with social media, I wanted to eat that)

reminds me of the scene at 9:49minutes in this video
