Still insane to me there's seriously not AC over there. Over here, especially in this state (Oklahoma), it can reach 100+ degrees Fahrenheit, which - at least it's not Arizona - might as well be literally the surface of the sun to Europeans. AC is such a basic and standard thing where I live, and if it goes out, your ass is tethered to a desk or box fan, or you're moving into a hotel until the AC is fixed.
Well, it does exist in public spaces. But in private? A sign of wealth. Also it's not like the temperature cannot climb to 100F in summer here, and sustained 90F is pretty normal.
